The Taste of Vail announced its seminar lineup today as part of its 2024 event taking place April 3-6, 2024, in the heart of Vail, Colorado. As one of the nation's top food and wine festivals, it is one of the few events in the country that invites dozens of winemakers and owners from all over the world to pour wine and interact with participants. The Taste of Vail develops a series of new seminars each year designed to help food and wine enthusiasts expand their knowledge in entertaining and interactive sessions.

VAIL, Colo., March 5, 2024—The Taste of Vail announced its seminar lineup today as

part of its 2024 event taking place April 3-6, 2024, in the heart of Vail, Colorado. As one

of the nation's top food and wine festivals, it is one of the few events in the country that

invites dozens of winemakers and owners from all over the world to pour wine and

interact with participants. The Taste of Vail develops a series of new seminars each

year designed to help food and wine enthusiasts expand their knowledge in entertaining

and interactive sessions.


“The seminar and wine dinner lineup for The 2024 Taste of Vail represents the

continued evolution of our event featuring some of the foremost wine professionals in

the country paired with talented guest chefs from across the country,” said Angela

Mueller, executive director of The Taste of Vail. “These events will provide world-class

culinary and wine experiences intended to pique the interest of any food and wine

aficionado.”


Wine dinners to date include:


Opening Celebration Wine Dinner, Wednesday April 3, 6:00-8:00 pm, The

Sonnenalp Hotel,

Experience an unforgettable intimate evening of fine dining and exquisite wines at the

Sonnenalp Hotel. Indulge in a delightful culinary experience with Executive Chef Joshua

Marshall from Sonnenalp, (Vail, Colorado) who will work with guest chefs to prepare a

delectable menu paired by sommelier Zachary Lewison with the perfect Taste of Vail

wines to enhance your dining pleasure. $285


Charles Krug/Peter Mondavi Jr. Wine Dinner, Thursday April 4, 7:00-9:00 pm, The

Arrabelle

Peter Mondavi Jr. is the second son of Peter and Blanche Mondavi and grandson of

Cesare and Rosa Mondavi, the Napa Valley pioneers who purchased the historic

Charles Krug Winery in 1943. As co-proprietor with his brother Marc, he works on

issues of strategic importance, including stewardship of the family legacy. Charles Krug

Wine Dinner with Peter Mondavi and Executive Chef Nick Steger and Culinary team

from the Arrabelle, Executive Chef Dan Macguire and Executive Chef Jenn Davis from

Joe Zeppy’s (Fort Collins, Colorado). $285


Wine Dinner at Leonora, Thursday April 4, 7:00-9:00 pm

This exclusive event promises an enchanting ambiance and a delectable selection of

wines paired with exquisite dishes. Executive Chef Kevin Erving and guest chefs will

take you through exquisite pairings. $265


Peay Wine Dinner, Friday, April 5, 6:00-8:00 pm, Root & Flower

Join Root & Flower and Andy Peay of Peay Vineyards for a five course dinner with wine

pairings. The perfect evening during the Taste of Vail weekend. $285


Closing Celebration Dinner, April 6: 7:00 -9:00 pm

To culminate the Taste of Vail week, enjoy our new final dinner where guests will start

the evening off with Vail-based Grazing Fox charcuterie boards followed by a delectable

meal from guest chef Josh Adams from Campione (Livingston, Montana) and Executive

Chef James London from Chubby Fish (Charleston, South Carolina). Both Chefs are

James Beard Award Semi finalists for Best Chef Category in their regions. $285

delicacy. Our expert speakers will guide you through the fascinating history, production,

and tasting of Sturia Caviar. Immerse yourself in the art of caviar appreciation as you

savor its delicate flavors and learn about the different varieties. $100


Island Wines, Thursday, April 4: 11:30-12:30 pm The Sebastian, Vail

The islands of Corsica, Azores, Santornini, Canary Islands, Sardinia and Etna are

special places that have the ability to change our perspectives on life. Now come let

them change your perspective on wine. The wines raised on fiery volcanoes, windswept

archipelagos, tropical paradises and stony sea outcrops might just blow your mind. Join

wine writer Alder Yarrow for a tour through some of his favorite island wines from

around the world. Island attire optional. $85


Does Burgundy Speak German, Thursday April 4, 1:30-2:30 pm, Matsuhisa, Vail

Burgundy is the benchmark to which all great Chardonnay and Pinot Noir aspire, and

wines like Richebourg and Corton can be at once thrilling yet stunningly expensive to

drink. If the magic of Burgundy is in its soil and climate, then Germany's current wine

scene should have your attention—regions like Pfalz and Baden issue Burgundian

varieties that invite comparison to the famous French Grand Crus. Master Sommelier

Jesse Becker will lead a panel discussion with winemakers Fritz Becker, Weingut

Friedirch Becker and Claus Burmesiter from VDP. Weingut Heitlinger, two leading

German wine estates focused on Burgundian varieties, with commentary from

sommelier Andreas Harl from Matsuhisa Vail and Zack Musick from The German Wine

The Library and Current Cabernet Sauvignon Release with Napa Vineyards,

Friday, April 5, 10:30-11:30 am, The Grandview Room, Lionshead

explore a tasting of their Cabernet Sauvignon from their library collection and current

about our state's AVAs and taste the outstanding wines selected for the 2021

Governor's Cup Collection, ranging from traditional grapes to innovative styles. Come
